ALBUFERA BOAT TRIP AND VALENCIAN PAELLA
Albufera is a lagoon surrounded by paddy fields. In this tour you can discover a lagoon and a natural park located just a few miles from the bustling city of Valencia as well as tasting the local rice. The Albufera lagoon is located off the Mediterranean coast, surrounded by paddy fields and close to some of the best sandy beaches in Spain. A network of irrigation canals is providing water to the fertile orchards and the paddy fields. In the cosy village of El Palmar, on the shores of the lagoon, local farmers and fishermen are always busy to supply the local markets and restaurants with the best produce. You can also spot some traditional farmhouses known as “Barracas” and their steep roofs made of cane.
ITINERARY 
From the Valencia Cruise Terminal we will take a vehicle for a panoramic tour. On our way to the Albufera lagoon we will drive close to the City or Arts and Sciences. Then we will leave the city as we approach the fertile lands surrounding the lagoon. Pine trees growing on sand dunes and paddy fields are signs that we are driving into the natural park. After crossing one of the canals which connects the Mediterranean Sea and the Albufera, we arrive at the farmer’s village of El Palmar, located in the heart of the natural park. One of the local fishermen will be waiting for us to take us on a boat ride in the lagoon. Back at the pier a lunch including valencian paella will be served at a traditional restaurant. The chef will show you how it is prepared and share some secrets to get the best result.
